On the PHILIPPINES' AVATAR and the PHILIPPINE EAGLE:
The avatar used is the head of the Philippines' monkey-eating eagle, Pithecorphaga Jefferyi, and is the second largest eagle in the world next to the American Harpy Eagle - standing at over 3 feet (1m) tall and easily weighing up to 17 pounds (7.7kg).[The PHILIPPINES AVATAR is a TEMPORARY one and will be replaced by the winning design of the ID/LOGO Commission.]
The Philippine Eagle is a ferocious-looking bird with bluish eyes, a large, sharp, curved beak and a warlike headdress of spiky feathers giving it a striking appearance.
It is the most distinctive, most impressive, super-rare and hard-to-find species of the accipitridae (of hawks, eagles and kites) family .
The eagle symbolizes POWER.
The avatar we are using is to show our belief in the spirit of the Filipino and how it is reflected in that of the Philippine Eagle. The Philippine Eagle is indigeneous to the Philippines.

FAVOURITES GALLERY The deviantART FAQ explanation regarding the use of the Favourites Gallery has been brought to our attention this evening by one of our members in a comment in the journal related to Filipino Artists, Favourites.
We were previously unaware of this #216 FAQ - FAQ #216: Are there any rules for accounts being used as clubs or 'group' accounts? and appreciate it being brought to our attention.
In compliance to deviantART's policy, we have immediately removed all previous work in our Favourites Gallery but have backed them up to prepare a forthcoming introduction and/or interview of the artists and their works.
